A recreation of the classic Jefferson Cup. In 1810 Thomas Jefferson commissioned John Letelier for a set of 8 small silver tumblers. Since that time, these small cups have become popular to give as commemorative gifts. The original cups survive today in the museum at Monticello. This was an attempt at faithful recreation in size, shape, weight.
Raised in the traditional way, from a single disc of sterling silver, with a hand hammered finish. 2 5/8” tall, weighting about 4.8 ounces avoirdupois.
Often engraved with an inscription these cups are given to commemorate weddings, graduations, and at coming of age celebrations. A complete set of them will add class and sophistication to any silverware set.
